Free family events for visually impaired visitors at the Science Museum

_Q3I0087On Saturday 10th September the Science Museum is running free family events for visually impaired visitors. All events have been created for VI families. Times and details are as follows:

10:30 & 12:30 – Audio Described ‘Stronger by Design’ Science show and touch tour

The Theatre, Ground Floor

This interactive show explores the science of forces and structures and is a great introduction to simple engineering. Come and help us make a special version of a club sandwich with a secret ingredient – you! Or try sitting on over 500 nails on our evil Chair of Doom.

(Recommended for families with children aged 7 +. Approx. 1 hour)

12:30 & 14:30 – ‘Motoring Along’ immersive storytelling

Virgin Media Studio, Second Floor

Start your engines and join us on a drive through the country in this interactive story. One of the museum’s iconic objects is brought to life as we find out about number plates, how to start an old car, and what to do if there is a sheep on the road!

(Recommended for families with children aged 5+. Approx. 1hour)

11:30 & 15:30– Object handling of Information Age gallery artefacts.

Hold history in your hands with objects from the Science Museum’s collection. Find out what they are made from and how they transformed the way we communicate and share information.
(Recommended for families with children aged 7 +.  Drop in over an hour)
