LOOK-UK is a registered charity which aims to support blind and vision impaired young people and their families.
One way in which we aim to do this is through Skype mentoring groups. This is part of our mentoring project which will be launching later this summer. There will be several Skype groups these will be split into age groups, which will give the opportunity for young people to connect with others that are a similar age to them.
The mentoring groups will give blind and vision impaired young people the opportunity to help and support each other, discuss any issues relating to sight loss and discuss tips and tricks such as being independent. Whether that’s talking about education, student life, employment, mobility or assistive technology, the groups are there for blind and vision impaired young people to learn from one another.
If you aged between 11-29 and think this is something you’d like to be a part of and feel this is something that you could really benefit from?
Or are you over 18 and passionate about helping others who are blind and vision impaired young people just like yourself? would you be interested in being a leader of one of the Skype groups? Do you think you could pass on your experiences of being a blind or partially sighted person to others?
Being a Skype group leader would enhance your teamwork and communication skills. You will also receive lots of training and guidance which would look great on any CV! It would also be a fun experience for you, whilst helping others.
If you are interested in joining one of the Skype groups, as a participant or a leader or if you’d like anymore information please do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to hearing from you!
